John Bindernagel
John Bindernagel holds a B.S.A. from the University of Guelph (Guelph, Canada) and an MS and PhD from theUniversity of Wisconsin (Madison). He has had a 30-year international career as a professional wildlife biologist with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) with the United Nations, living and working inUganda,Tanzania,Iran, andTrinidad and Tobago. He has also participated in wildlife research projects in most Canadian provinces, but especially in BC andAlberta.
His interest in the sasquatch began in 1963 and eventually led to a family move to Vancouver IslandBCin 1975. It also led, eventually, to two books on the subject: North America’s Great Ape: The Sasquatch (A wildlife biologist looks at the continent’s most misunderstood large mammal) (1998), and, The Discovery of the Sasquatch (Reconciling Culture, History, and Science in the Discovery Process) ( 2010). The resumption of field work in 2011 has been a welcome change from the previous 7 years spent researching and writing the second book.
Dr. Jeff Meldrum
Dr. Jeff Meldrum holds a doctorate in anatomical sciences from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is currently an Associate Professor of Anatomy & Anthropology in the Department of Biological Sciences at Idaho State University. His formal study of primates began with the terrestrial adaptations of African primates, and has since taken him from the skeletal cabinets of far-flung museums, to the remote badlands of Colombia and Argentina in search of fossil New World primates. He has published extensively on the evolutionary history of the South American primates and has described several new extinct species. His attentions are also directed at the emergence of modern human bipedalism and the analysis of fossil hominid footprints. His co-edited volume, From Biped to Strider: the Emergence of Modern Human Walking, Running, and Resource Transport, redirects attention from the origins of simply walking on two legs, to the pattern of emergence of the innovations specifically unique to modern human gait. His interests in the footprints attributed to an unrecognized North American ape, commonly known as sasquatch, came into focus when he literally crossed paths with an enigmatic set of tracks in the mountains of Washington State. He has conducted collaborative laboratory research and field work throughout the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West, as well as China and Russia, and has spoken about his findings in numerous interviews, television appearances, public and professional presentations. His book Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science was described by Dr. Jane Goodall as bringing “a much-needed level of scientific analysis to the sasquatch – Bigfoot – debate.” He currently edits The Relict Hominoid Inquiry, a refereed on-line journal promoting scientific dialogue on this intriguing question.
John Mionczynski
John Mionczynski is a professional wildlife biologist with over 35 years experience in the Rocky Mountains and Africa. Much of his research attention has been focused on grizzly bears and mountain sheep. He has trapped and monitored grizzlies in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and investigated the environmental threats to the Bighorn sheep in Wyoming’s Wind River Range. He is a professional ethnobotanist with extensive knowledge of Native Aerican uses of edible and medicinal plants. He also pioneered current goat-packing techniques. John’s interest in the sasquatch began with a personal encounter in the Winds. He has since conducted filed research throughout the western US for the North American Ape Project.
Jason Valenti
Jason Valenti was inspired to get involved in Hominoid research after his own personal sighting in Apalachicola National Forest in 1996. He has been out in the field on many occasions to search for Hominoid evidence. He hosted the 2005 Sasquatch Research Conference in Bellingham, WA, and has been a guest on numerous radio shows over the last decade, as well as a documentary. He has his own business, Infinite Web Solutions, and has provided multi-media solutions to customers for over 8 years. With his knowledge in digital and electronic media, he is able to provide technical support along with innovative ideas for solutions. He also has a background in electronics, electrical and mechanical repair, as he grew up in a family business that serviced bio-medical equipment.
William Barnes
William Barnes is the Owner and Founder. Jason Valenti is the Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Digital Media Creation. William Dranginis is our Technical Director for Imaging Platforms and Infra-Sound Equipment.
William Barnes is the manager and oversees the entire project, as he has over 25 years experience in operating his own businesses. He has been a gold dredger for the last 15 years, and had his Hominoid sighting in 1997. Managing businesses with attention to detail, and getting the job done with the necessary resources, has given him the ability to create success without going over-budget. His focus is more on creative problem solving; thus, he solicits ideas from all involved in whatever business he’s involved with. Team effort is a huge focal point in working with any group of people that he manages. He appreciates having input from his colleagues, as this helps him to make firm decisions which move the organization in a direction that works well for all involved. He believes that good input from colleagues creates good output, and thus, well-spent, economically used investment dollars. He has found this approach to be a tried and true business practice.
